Ho, ho ho! – Santa is coming to Foyleside Shopping Centre
It’s the news you have all been waiting for as this festive season approaches. Our Winter Wonderland Grotto is returning this year to help create those magical moments for families at the most wonderful time of the year.
Please be assured that everything will be in place so that your special festive visit to Foyleside Shopping Centre will be as safe and enjoyable as possible. We will of course be fully complying with all of the latest government and public health guidelines to help keep everyone safe during Covid-19.

The health and safety of our visiting families and staff is always paramount, and this year we will be adhering to social distancing and wearing face coverings where required. We have changed the layout of the Centre accordingly and, to ensure everyone stays safe whilst having fun, this year’s Winter Wonderland Grotto will be a ticket only event.

OPENING HOURS
Due to recent government guidelines set by the NI Executive, our grotto will be open from Friday 11th December. Please keep in mind this is subject to change and we are not responsible for any cancellation or changes to this experience.
Bookings can be made to visit Santa in his Grotto during the following hours (subject to availability):

Monday: 10am-5pm / 6pm-8pm
Tuesday: 10am-5pm / 6pm – 8pm

Saturday: 9am-6pm
Sunday: 12.30pm-6pm

What to expect?
What precautions are being taken with regards to Covid-19?
This year we have restricted the amount of tickets on sale and all slots must be pre-booked. Please note that there will be no walk-in slots available on most of our operating days. We would therefore recommend booking now to secure your preferred time slot.
As per government guidelines, all customers 13+ years will need to wear a mask in the Grotto unless otherwise exempt. Please also be aware that only groups of up to 6 persons from the one social bubble/household are allowed to attend the Grotto at the same time.
We will continue to update our procedures in line with current government guidelines.
What can I expect from my Grotto experience?
We will have clear markers to ensure that each family group stays 2m apart before entering the Grotto. Please note that this year, Santa’s Grotto at Foyleside Shopping Centre is non-contact, to help ensure that everyone remains safe whilst enjoying the festive experience.
Santa and each family group will remain socially distant; Santa will be behind a safety screen but he will still be able to speak and interact with the children in the traditional way.
This year a gift will be included in your FREE visit to Santa’s Winter Wonderland, however professional photographs will be taken on request. You will have the chance to view and purchase your photo and a selection of photo gifts upon exiting the Grotto.
What time should I arrive?
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your booking time. Areas need to be sanitised between bookings and we cannot allow the waiting areas to become congested. Should you arrive early, please take a look around the Centre and our festive displays.

We are implementing a number of safety measures, which you can read about below. All of our safety measures will be applied in close liaison with our local government authorities and trader organisations, in order to make your day out at Foyleside as safe as possible.
Covid-19 Terms of visit
By making a booking online the visitor certifies that they are aware of and accept the following Terms & Conditions regarding Covid-19.
- The visitor accepts responsibility of the Covid-19 related risks whilst visiting the Winter Wonderland Grotto.
- The visitor agrees that they are not vulnerable, nor do they have any underlying health issues.
- The visitor agrees that they, nor anyone in their party are not showing any symptoms of Covid-19.
- The visitor understands and accepts that management and staff reserves the right to refuse admission to any person showing signs or symptoms of Covid-19.
- The visitor understands that there are reduced entrances and exits and they may be required to wait before entering the Grotto.
- The visitor agrees that hand sanitisation and respiratory hygiene which is encouraged at all times, is their own responsibility.
- The visitor agrees to follow government social distancing guidelines at all times.
- The visitor agrees to wear a facial covering in all required areas.
