As the summer break draws to a close, thousands of local children will soon be heading back to school, or indeed starting school for the very first time.
Here at Foyleside, we’ve got all the essentials covered. Whether you need uniforms, stationary or other supplies, you’ll be able to find everything you need in the centre.
To coincide with the upcoming school term, we’ll be hosting a series of events in the centre across the coming weeks. Our main event takes place on Saturday 13th August from 2pm-3.30pm, with local star Micky Doherty inviting 25 pupils from across Northern Ireland to be interviewed on stage.
There will also be a host of activities and services running in the centre such as the free personalisation of your school supplies (including school bag, pencil case, water bottles etc), as well as arts and crafts in the Creative Garden outside Boots on Level 2. These activities will also be running on 14th August, 20th-21st August, 27th-28th August and the Bank Holiday on 29th August.
That’s not all! Our in-centre competition will encourage kids to pose with the photo display and share their picture on social media to be in with a chance of winning a £300 Foyleside gift card! There will be an additional social media competition running alongside this, where people will be asked to share their old ‘back to school’ photos. There are £50 gift cards up for grabs.
Fergal Rafferty, Foyleside Centre Manager, said: “School is indeed just around the corner, marking one of the busiest periods of the year for us in the centre. And with uniforms, shoes, bags, coats, books, paper, pencils and all other supplies in one place – what more could you ask for?!
“We’re also aware that getting the children ready for school can be somewhat stressful at times, which is why we’re committed to making the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved. Our packed event schedule in the weekends leading up to the new school term offers some light-hearted entertainment in the centre and plenty of activities to help get the school supplies in order. Many of our traders are also running deals and discounts to help keep the costs down. Last but not least, don’t forget about our gift card competitions, which could cover the spending altogether!”
