Fergal Rafferty, Centre Manager presenting a cheque to Noel McMonagle, Foyle Hospice.

Foyle Hospice has received a donation of £620 on behalf of Foyleside Shopping Centre following last month’s St. Patrick’s Day event.

During the festivities, which featured traditional Irish music and dancing, a ‘pot of gold’ was stationed in the centre where shoppers could make their donations.

An incredible £310 was raised on the day and with Foyleside having pledged to match that figure, Centre Manager Fergal Rafferty proudly presented Noel McMonagle of the Foyle Hospice with a cheque for £620.

“We are delighted to be presenting this donation to Foyle Hospice following our St. Patrick’s Day event. It’s a great cause that we’re proud to support and the work they do is highly commendable,” said Mr Rafferty.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for the generosity they’ve shown. They’ve always been keen to engage in the events we put on and this occasion was no different. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back again next year!”

Foyle Hospice spokesperson Noel McMonagle said: “Foyleside’s support is greatly appreciated, and we’d like to thank them and their customers for their generosity.

“Foyle Hospice is heavily reliant on donations from the community and that kindness has enabled us to care for thousands of patients and families over the years.”
